Travel by Air
There is daily jet service to Puerto Escondido Airport (PXM) from Mexico City (MEX) on Mexicana Airlines (clickmx.com) and from Oaxaca City (OAX) on Aero Tucan (aero-tucan.com). Numerous flights per day to Huatulco from Mexico City & Oaxaca. Seasonally from Houston, Chicago, Vancouver, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Toronto & more. Huatulco is a good alternative and is only a 1.5 hour drive to Puerto Escondido.

Vans & Buses
Luxury buses from Mexico City depart from TAPO (Terminal del Autobuses Pacífico Oriente) for an 11-12 hour ride to Puerto Escondido. From Acapulco depart from Estrella Blanca - one block north of the Zócalo on Avenida Ejido. Buses run from Huatulco on a regular basis prior to 6:00 PM and is difficult after then. Taxi's
Taxi's from the airport are always more expensive because of an airport license monopoly. Tryto be picked up by a hotel van or a friend. Or, you can walk to the airport exit and wait for a 'Collectivo' or small shuttle vans that cost less. Taxis here are unmetered so agree to a price at the start. Most trips in Puerto Escondido should range between 10 & 30 pesos.
